Late in the evening of May 7, 1989, Étienne Séguin, a businessman who worked in the area of auctions, and his spouse, Régine St-Pierre, were murdered in their residence on chemin de la Savane, in Saint-Hubert. The investigation revealed that the motive for the double murder was theft.
