Georgette Mallet

On April 24, 1973, at around 4:00 p.m., adolescents canoeing down the rivière des Outaouais (Ottawa River), between Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and Belleville Island, discovered a body floating on the surface of the water. Once the body was brought to the shore, it was found to be that of a woman, later identified as Georgette Mallet, 24 years old. There were signs of violence on the body. On March 15, 1973, an acquaintance of Ms. Mallet’s had reported her disappearance to the Montréal police.
