Lawrence Coffin

In Témiscamingue, on March 14, 1969, around 2 a.m., three masked individuals broke into the offices of the Booth Lumber sawmill. The offices were on the ground floor and there were rooms for the workers on the upper floor. The three individuals, who were armed with handguns, were unable to open the safe, so they went upstairs in an attempt to get the key to the safe and rob the roomers. The employees opened their rooms and were tied up. Lawrence Coffin refused to open. One of the suspects fired a shot through the door of his room. The bullet pierced the upper part of Lawrence Coffin's thigh, rupturing the femoral artery. The victim died of a hemorrhage shortly after.
