On February 5, 1976, around 11:00 p.m., an apartment building located on rue Alphonse in Brossard was the target of arson. Two 12-year-old girls, Brenda Moore and Nicole Boivin, were unable to leave the premises before the fire spread to the entire building. They died at the scene.
