On December 7, 1990, around 12:45 p.m., a motorist was driving south on Montée Dumais in Lachenaie. Near the Autoroute 640 overpass, he saw a Chevrolet Caprice stuck in the snow. Near that vehicle, he saw two suspects on the edge of the shoulder. The body of Carlos Fernandez was found inside the Chevrolet Caprice. That vehicle belonged to Edelberto Escobar.
That same day, around 1:30 p.m., the body of Edelberto Escobar was found in a driveway in Montréal-Nord; under a Tempo car shelter. The investigation shows that it was a double murder.
