Event date : August 13, 1986
On August 13, 1986, at approximately 3 pm, David Legault, who was then aged 71, and his brother Raoul Legault, who was then aged 64, were found in their home. Family members discovered them in their residence located in an isolated area in the forest, about 11 km from the village of Lac-des-Écorces in the Upper Laurentians.
The brothers had lived in this isolated place for about forty years. A firearm was used to commit these homicides. The suspects are two men who went to the brothers’ house to commit a robbery. This information was given by David Legault before he succumbed to his injuries a few days after the event. Despite the information obtained, the suspects have never been identified.
