Jacques Deschamps
On September 14th, 2005, at around midnight, the Sainte-Adèle Police Service received a 911 call from a residence located at 301 Montée Séraphin. The caller mentioned that people were trying to break into his residence. Shortly after, a fire alarm was triggered at the same address.
A citizen also called the emergency services to report the presence of flames from the area. Upon arrival, the police officers noticed flames in front of the residence.
The body of Jacques Deschamps, who was then aged 66 years old, was found in the rubble. Witnesses said that they noticed, a short time before the fire, a gray SUV with a spare wheel in the back parked in front of the residence. A black man measuring approximately five foot eight and weighing approximately 72 kg was seen near this vehicle.
