On March 25, 1999, Québec firefighters received a call respecting a fire in a vehicle parked at the Lebourgneuf centre. The body of Jean-Marie Vermette, 43, was found inside the vehicle. The autopsy showed that the latter was the victim of a homicide. Jean-Marie Vermette had been released from prison one month prior to the incident.
