On October 16, 1970, Marie-Marthe Marinier contacted a friend to postpone the supper they had planned. She mentioned that she had to bring spare clothes to her boyfriend, Gérald Bourget. Later that evening, she was seen leaving her home in Montréal with an unidentified man.

Marie Marthe Marinier has not been seen since. On November 8, 1970, her boyfriend was found lifeless. He was the victim of a homicide.
