On July 31, 1969 between 9:00 pm and 10:45 pm, Pierre Lachapelle and his friend Jean Lachapelle were traveling on a secondary road located west of Saint-Jovite in two different vehicles. When the two men stopped their vehicules Jean Lachapelle opened fire on Pierre Lachapelle. He died from his wounds. In 1978, Jean Lachapelle was charged and sentenced for the murder of Pierre Lachapelle.
Besides Jean Lachapelle, we have reason to believe one or several accomplices could also be involved in the murder of Pierre Lachapelle.
