Raymond Desrochers

Raymond Desrochers was found dead on December 6, 1984, in his apartment in Chibougamau. Alerted by a strong odour, the neighbours asked the landlord to open the apartment door. The victim, who was found lying on the floor, had been dead for several days. The autopsy showed that Mr. Desrochers was murdered.

Mr. Desrochers was single and lived alone in his apartment. His neighbours considered him to be a rather solitary man. Only one friend, a colleague from work, visited him regularly. Mr. Desrochers, a miner, was unemployed at the time of the events.

It was brought to our attention that the victim frequented the bars in the area, but no particular event related to his presence or behaviour was noted. Mr. Desrochers had no enemies.
