In the afternoon of February 9, 2005, the victim, Robert Fournier, was shot and killed inside his home, in Cantley. He was found lifeless by his spouse, who then notified the Collines-de-l’Outaouais RCM police force about the tragedy that had just occurred in her home.

Meeting various witnesses made it possible to learn that the victim was a well-known individual in his community, In fact, Robert Fournier was a businessman who owned several businesses (bar and restaurant), and was an associate in a construction company in the Gatineau region.
